Short answers about privacy, quality and limits.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Compression runs inside your browser using your own device. Your images are never sent to our server or to anyone else, and they are gone when you close the tab.

How much smaller will my images get?

It depends on the image. Photos straight from a phone or camera often shrink by more than half. Images that were already optimized shrink less, and the exact saving is shown next to every file.

Will I see a loss in quality?

At the default setting most people cannot tell the difference. If you need sharper results, move the quality slider up and every file is compressed again with the new setting.

How does PNG compression work?

PNG files are reduced to a smart palette of up to 256 colors, which keeps transparency and usually cuts the size a lot. Setting quality to 95 or higher keeps every color and only recompresses the file.

Why did a file not get smaller?

Some files are already as small as they can be. When the compressed version would be larger, you get your original file back unchanged.

Are there any limits?

You can add up to 20 images at a time, each up to 30 MB. Very large images take a little longer because your own device does the work.
